The Boston Celtics‘ offseason is off to a weird start. Between their uncomfortable Jaylen Brown situation and Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors, there’s a lot of drama, intrigue and speculation swirling around the Celtics right now.
While Brown’s name has been floated in trade rumors, NBA insider Sam Amick says Boston needs to be careful not to alienate one of its best players in case Brown sticks around.
“It’s very sensitive, too,” Amick said on Friday’s episode of “The Dan Patrick Show.” “The Celtics went to great lengths to massage that situation and get things back in a good place.”
“Giannis has questions about what that Miami roster would look like on the other side of a deal… I think the #Celtics are a pretty intriguing option.”

The Celtics and Brown have seemingly smoothed things over during the past month or so, so Boston needs to avoid potentially upsetting Brown and damaging their relationship by including his name in trade rumors.
Nobody likes hearing that their employer is looking to get rid of them, especially after everything Brown’s done for the team and the community over the last decade.
If the Celtics do shop Brown, they need to make sure they’re on the same page with him about it. Because if they’re not and he isn’t dealt this summer, it’s going to be very awkward next season.
