NPFL: Barau FC move top as Rangers win at home

Barau FC climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) standings after a convincing 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors.

Powerful forward Joseph Atule opened the scoring for the Maliya Boys in the 22nd minute before Ibrahim Ayoola doubled their advantage one minute after the hour mark.

The result takes Barau FC to 11 points from five matches, placing them at the summit of the table.

Defending champions Rangers moved up to second position after securing a narrow 1-0 win over Ranchers Bees.

Chidozie Iwundu scored the decisive goal 10 minutes from full-time.

At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Shooting Stars recorded a 2-0 victory over Katsina United, with Olanrewaju Ridwan and Qamar Adegoke finding the net for the hosts.
