In a proud moment for advanced security and professional education in Nigeria, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved 10 new postgraduate programmes at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.
The exciting news comes following a thorough assessment by the NUC resource verification team. The team recently visited the campus to evaluate the Academy’s facilities, learning materials, and faculty readiness, ultimately giving the green light for these specialized advanced degrees.
All 10 approved programmes will run as full-time courses, opening up new academic paths in security, law, science, and business:
- Master’s in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control (MCM)
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Peace and Conflict Studies
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Police Studies
M.Sc. and Master’s in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship (MBA)
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Management Studies
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Law
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Biochemistry
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Financial Economics
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Forensic DNA
The Nigeria Police Academy has long been dedicated to refining the skills and knowledge of senior police officers, however, with this new approval, the Academy is proud to open its doors much wider as the courses are open to all, including personnel from other security and intelligence agencies, and interested members of the general public.
