The Chargers seem very confident about the abilities of wide receiver Tre’ Harris, who was drafted by the team with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 24-year-old is one of the Bolts’ top three receivers, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
“Quentin Johnston, Tre’ Harris, Ladd McConkey have clearly been the top three receivers. They all have looked elite in phases one and two,” Harbaugh said last week.
There’s a lot of confidence surrounding the wideout internally and that is why Sports Illustrated’s Connor Orr predicts Harris will absolutely flourish in Mike McDaniel’s system, predicting him to see his targets, catches, yards and touchdowns more than double in 2026.
“The 2025 second-rounder is going to be one of the most noticeable beneficiaries of the Mike McDaniel–Justin Herbert mind meld. While the partnership will obviously reward Ladd McConkey for being the perfect anticipatory pass catcher for a quick-release system, Harris will get carries out of the backfield and step into the explosive play detonator role in McDaniels’s offense,” Orr writes.
Last season, Harris recorded 324 yards on 30 receptions with one touchdown in his rookie year. While his numbers were by no means exemplary, it appears the wide receiver is set up to have a breakout season in his sophomore campaign.
Harris has looked solid throughout OTAs, which could guarantee him consistent snaps in 2026. The Chargers receiving corps remains uncertain with a Keenan Allen return still a possibility ahead of the new season.
However, Harris seems to have already caught the eyes of Harbaugh and could frequently be utilized in McDaniel’s offense.
