Toronto Blue Jays reliever Chad Dallas announced himself with an insane play in his MLB debut against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday.

In the third inning, Dallas allowed an infield single to Ronald Acuna Jr., followed by a steal to second base. The pitcher gave up another single to Mauricio Dubon and Matt Olson’s sac-fly brought home Acuna Jr. Ozzie Albies flied out to right field. Dubon reached second as Dallas walked Michael Harris II. A wild pitch from Dallas put Dubon at third.

With runners stranded at the corner, danger was looming for the Blue Jays rookie. This is when Dallas delivered an unforgettable play on the mound. Braves’ Dominic Smith hit it back at him and Dallas made a slick behind-the-back snag to strand runners at the corner.

The defensive gem came at a critical moment as the Braves were threatening to eat into Toronto’s 3-1 lead.

Chad Dallas retires Braves sluggers in first MLB inning

Chad Dallas delivered a top-notch moment in the second inning as well.

Dallas was brought on the mound after starting pitcher Mason Fluharty ran into trouble in the second inning. The Blue Jays’ rookie had Michael Harris II at third when he walked out.

In the pressure situation, the rookie retired Austin Riley (fouled out to third) before allowing a walk to Mike Yastrzemski. Dallas struck out catcher Sandy Leon to close out the inning without giving up any runs.
