Nebraska football has officially unveiled new home and away uniforms for the upcoming season. The new jerseys were released to the public on Saturday night during the Battle of the Boneyard 7-on-7 tournament.
The new uniform is inspired by what the school describes as ‘classic Husker football design elements.’ The jersey has two stripes across the shoulders, with player numbers featured on the sleeves.
The jersey number font draws inspiration from the numbers engraved on an anvil. The numbers also feature interior lines inspired by crop rows, reflecting the state’s agricultural heritage.
The helmet will not change and the stick N will remain on the front of the pants. Nebraska Senior Associate AD Brandon Meier said the conversations about new uniforms began more than two years ago.

We appreciate that adidas recognized the natural connection between Nebraska football and agriculture and used that as inspiration for a design that is fitting of the hard work, grit and dedication of our state.”

Adidas is the designer and has been Nebraska’s apparel partner since 1995. This is the most significant change to Nebraska’s uniforms since the 2002 season, a change that lasted one season.
