MLS investigating reported antisemitic abuse of Israeli striker Dor Turgeman

Major League Soccer is investigating “reported antisemitic and discriminatory language” from CF Montreal fans toward Israeli striker Dor Turgeman in Saturday’s game against the New England Revolution.

Turgeman scored in the 35th minute of the 2-2 draw at Stade Saputo, putting his hands to his ears as he faced up to the home fans, some of whom threw items at the striker.

CF Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza then shoved Turgeman and was shown a yellow card.

In a statement released on Monday, MLS said that it “has been in contact with both clubs since the incident and is currently investigating the matter.”

In a statement of their own, the Revs said they “strongly condemn the antisemitic and discriminatory abuse directed at forward Dor Turgeman by CF Montreal supporters during Saturday’s away match.

The club added that it “immediately reported the incident to Major League Soccer and has fully supported the investigation. We appreciate MLS’ swift response and commitment to addressing incidents of discrimination. We are hopeful that those responsible will be held accountable for their unacceptable actions.”

Turgeman, 22, signed with the Revs in August 2025 from Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv. He has scored seven goals in 20 MLS appearances with the Revs so far.
