Lukas Nmecha joined Leeds United as a free agent in 2025 and signed a two-year contract, which means he’s set to become a free agent unless a new deal is signed, and he’s unlikely to put pen to paper unless he’s given more game-time by manager Daniel Farke, according to Football Insider.
Nmecha is a versatile forward, capable of playing anywhere across the front line, but his current role at Elland Road is that of a backup option for Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the central attacker. The 25-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game this season yet, only making two appearances off the bench and recording one assist. He did, however, start both Carabao Cup games Farke’s men played before bowing out to Chelsea, adding another assist to his name.
As of yet, no talks have been held over a new contract, and the prospect of signing him as a free agent next summer will surely appeal to many potential suitors. On the other hand, Leeds reportedly remain confident about extending Farke’s contract, which also expires at the end of the season.
