Golden Tempo won the 2026 Belmont Stakes at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Saturday, June 6.
The horse, ridden by jockey Jose Ortiz, won the 1½-mile (12 furlongs) race with a time of 2:03.49. The race took place while rain was falling, causing the track to be muddy.
Commandment and Renegade finished and second and third, respectively.

The race serves as the final leg of the Triple Crown, following the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. Golden Tempo won the derby in May but did not race in the Preakness. That decision was made to prioritize health.
This is expected to be the last time the race will be held at Saratoga. The race was temporarily relocated to the upstate New York track to accommodate Belmont Park’s $455 million capital renovation project on Long Island.
