Bayern Munich center-back Jonathan Tah is having a blast in his first camp working under Jürgen Klopp and thinks the group will benefit from the former Liverpool manager. However, Tah also acknowledged that it will be up to the players to actually perform on the pitch.
“You can feel the positive energy that the coach and the coaching staff are bringing in. But ultimately, of course, we’re still the ones on the pitch, and we players have to implement what the coach demands of us. We’re the ones who have to perform in the end. It’s about giving everything for Germany,” said Tah (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
When Tah was asked to compare Klopp with Joachim Löw, Hansi Flick, and Julian Nagelsmann, the defender balked at going down that road.
“I don’t really like these comparisons. Everyone has their own approach. Jürgen Klopp’s strengths are his experience, his mix of passion and enjoyment, and his absolute will to win. After the initial team meeting, I think everyone thought: Okay, we’ll go through fire for him together as a team,” Tah said.
