Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti goes viral for his facial expressions sometimes. The Hoosiers pounded Howard 55-0 despite missing two key defenders in cornerbacks Jamari Sharpe and AJ Harris. But he focus shifted toward Cignetti’s reaction.
The head coach kept his same “resting coach face” look. Even following the latest rout by the defending national champs.
“I think we took a step. It was far from perfect. But we’ll be able to enjoy it [this win] a little bit more,” Cignetti said postgame via the Big Ten Network.

Indiana has started the 2026 campaign putting together two one-sided routs. IU thrashed North Texas to start the season, rolling to the 52-16 trouncing. That same Hoosiers game birthed a new viral meme, though: New quarterback Josh Hoover’s bloody nose.
Hoover didn’t throw much in week two, completing 6-of-11 passes for 145 yards. But he tossed four touchdowns against the HBCU power.
Wide receiver Charlie Becker delivered a stellar outing himself: Catching three passes for 81 yards, with all three ending in touchdowns. Yet the Hoosiers turned to the ground game more in wearing down the Bison.
Running back Lee Beebe Jr. tallied 112 yards on 16 carries and averaged seven yards a carry. Turbo Richard, a key College Football Transfer Portal find via Boston College, delivered his own 110-yard outing too in hitting 108 yards through 11 carries. He pulled off a 14-yard run to put IU up 41-0 during the second quarter.
Indiana has outscored its first two opponents 107-16 to start its national title defense. Western Kentucky is next up for Sept. 19.
