Juventus will be back in front of a home crowd on Saturday as it welcomes Parma to Allianz Stadium, hoping to make it two wins from two to start the Serie A campaign. The Bianconeri beat newly promoted Frosinone 1-0 on the road in Week 1 and aims to carry that momentum through in its return to Turin.
An early goal from Brazilian defender Bremer was all that separated Luciano Spalletti’s men from Frosinone, however, as Juve lacked a bit of attacking impetus. That has been further hampered by news that Turkish forward Kenan Yildiz is now set for two to three months on the sidelines after suffering a foot injury.
Parma opened its Serie A season with a 1-0 defeat at home to Cagliari last weekend, a worrying start for Carlos Cuesta’s side after finishing 12th last term. The Crusaders managed only two shots on target in that result and are only likely to be further frustrated travelling to a venue they haven’t won at since 2011.
Juve pulled off a home-and-away double over Parma last term and triumphed 2-0 last time these teams met in Turin thanks to goals from Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic. Canada striker David was an unused substitute at Frosinone and seemingly has a job on his hands convincing Spalletti amid talk of a move away.
