The Green Bay Packers may not have Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs in 2026, but they have starting quarterback Jordan Love entering his fourth season under center and with a healthy arsenal of weapons in the passing game.
Last season, Love played in 15 games after missing one contest due to a concussion and another out of precaution ahead of the NFL Playoffs. He put up a career-high 66.3% completion percentage and 101.2 passer rating to go with 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.

At this time of the year before the start of last season, ESPN had Love ranked 87th on their list of the top 100 NFL players. This came after he had a 63.1% completion percentage, 3,389 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 96.7 passer rating in 15 games played in 2024.
This year, though, Love has jumped 35 spots and is ranked 52nd with the following explanation:
“Packers coach Matt LaFleur raised some eyebrows when he said this summer that Love is ‘the best I’ve been around in terms of protections and adjustments, and rarely does he get out-schemed.’ When reminded that he coached Aaron Rodgers, LaFleur didn’t back down.
“Last season was Love’s cleanest in terms of mistakes; he threw a career-low six interceptions in 15 games, and it’s likely due in part to his ability to make those pre-snap adjustments.”

LaFleur’s comments about Love raised a lot of eyebrows among fans and the media. Aaron Rodgers, of course, is one of the best quarterback of all time and the Packers head was claiming there is a vital area of the position in which Love is superior.
On a related note, Love was Green Bay’s offensive play-caller in the second half of their preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals. His scheme and play selection helped the Packers score 18 points in the fourth quarter and erase an 11-point deficit.
If he has that much of a command of the offense that he can orchestrate a fourth quarterback comeback while on the sideline, one has to wonder just how high he will be ranked in 2027.
