Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Matisse Thybulle has officially joined his third NBA franchise, signing a one-year $3.3 million pact with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Shams Charania. Ever since a draft night trade sent him from the Celtics to the 76ers, Thybulle has been one of the league’s better defensive specialists, making the All-Defensive Second Team twice in Philadelphia. He was later traded to the West Coast in a deal that included both Josh Hart and Jalen McDaniels.
Recently with the Portland Trail Blazers, Thybulle has had trouble staying healthy, suiting up in only 45 games over the past two seasons. That said, Thybulle’s 3-point shooting has improved since leaving the Sixers, as the former No. 20 overall selection made 37.4% of his attempts with Portland. Now playing a support role to Luka Doncic and the Lakers, Thybulle will see plenty of open looks on the perimeter.
