Cardinals star Jeremiyah Love’s status for Broncos game in doubt after practice absence appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming off an incredible high. Amid their turbulent 2026 season, Arizona was able to snag a win against one of the best teams in the league on paper. Their 18-16 win over the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday was an incredible morale-boosting win for the squad. They did that even without one of their best players; running back Jeremiyah Love was injured and did not play last week.
Fans are perhaps hoping that Love will return to the field this week when the Cardinals take on the Denver Broncos, a much tougher defense. However, the first day of this week’s practice does not bode well for the team. Love was absent from Wednesday’s practice session: a troubling sign for the star’s availability in Week 7.

Love was out for the Cardinals’ Week 6 win over the Rams due to an ankle injury he got the week prior. Without Love, the Cardinals had to rely on Zonovan Knight and Tyler Allegier. Allegier was rather quiet in the win (38 yards on 10 carries), but Knight was electric in the game. Nicknamed “Bam,” the running back notched 80 yards on 15 carries. He constantly gashed the Rams’ defense with big runs that set the Cardinals up in good field position. While the offense never scored a touchdown, it was able to record six field goals.
That, apparently, was enough to hold off the Rams’ attack. The Cardinals were able to do just enough to keep away from their division rivals, especially on defense. However, it’s also clear that the Cardinals need to have Love back to add another gear to their offense. There will be two more days before Love makes his return to the field. If he doesn’t participate or is limited in any capacity… he’s likely not going to play a single snap in Week 7.
