RB Leipzig has reached a full agreement with Hoffenheim for Fisnik Asllani, according to Florian Plettenberg. The 23-year-old striker is expected to undergo his medical in Salzburg before signing a contract with Leipzig running until 2031.
Plettenberg reports that Leipzig will pay around €25 million for the Kosovo international. Asllani had already arrived in Salzburg by Wednesday evening, with the first part of his medical scheduled for Thursday.
Sky Germany reporter Philipp Hinze also says the agreement has been in place for several days. Hoffenheim has permitted the striker to complete the medical, leaving Leipzig to finalize the paperwork and announce its new signing.
Foot Mercato has connected Asllani’s arrival with Yan Diomandé’s expected move to Real Madrid. Asllani would strengthen a different part of the attack, since he plays primarily as a center-forward or supporting striker, while Diomandé has made his name on the wing.
The agreement represents another substantial move in the Bundesliga transfer market. Leipzig identified Asllani as its leading attacking target after his breakthrough season with Hoffenheim, during which he recorded 10 goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga.
Asllani’s existing contract gave Hoffenheim a strong position during negotiations. He signed a new long-term deal in July 2025 after returning from an impressive loan spell with Elversberg, where he scored 18 goals and supplied nine assists during the 2024/25 season.
The Berlin-born forward subsequently established himself in the Bundesliga and earned a regular place with Kosovo. Leipzig is now prepared to invest around €25 million in a player who already knows the league and can operate in several attacking roles.
The transfer remains part of the latest transfer rumors until the medical is completed and one of the clubs announces the move.
