Como boss Cesc Fabregas believes Yan Couto “fits well with the way we want to play” after completing a loan deal for the defender.
Couto will spend the 2025-26 season on loan from Borussia Dortmund, while Como reportedly have an option to buy the wing-back for €20m.
The 24-year-old made 62 appearances for Dortmund across the last two seasons, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
Despite playing as a back-up option to Julian Ryerson, Couto created the third-most chances among Borussia Dortmund defenders last term (26) and completed the second-most dribbles (21).
Fabregas praised Couto’s abilities and believes the Brazilian can continue to improve at Como.
“Yan is a brave and technically strong player who gives us different options on the right side,” Fabregas told the club website.
“He likes to play forward, has great energy and fits well with the way we want to play. He is still young, but already has important experience, and we believe he can continue to grow with us.”

Couto added: “I’m very happy to be here. I really like the team’s style of play and its philosophy, and I hope I can help the team improve even more.
“I believe this is an important step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Couto is Como’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window after the additions of Kaiki, Mattia Liberali, Luis Milla and Andres Cuenca.
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is also reportedly close to joining Como, who will play in the Champions League for the first time this season.
