Clemson pitcher Aidan Knaak to return in 2027 despite being drafted, per report

Clemson baseball is getting one of its best pitchers back for 2027.

Aidan Knaak, who pitched the second-most innings for the Tigers in 2026, will return for his senior season despite getting drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the fifth round of the MLB draft, according to a July 27 report from The Clemson Insider.

Knaak’s father spoke with them, stating that his son will be back at Clemson next season.

“AK has decided to return to Clemson for his senior season,” Knaak’s dad said. “He has made significant changes to his mechanics and is excited for the opportunity to return and compete again at the highest level.”

The report comes hours before the deadline for MLB draftees to sign their draft contract at 5 p.m. ET on July 27.

Knaak made 13 starts last season, finishing with a 5.81 ERA, 88 strikeouts and a 2-6 record in 57.1 innings. He served as the Tigers’ ace in 2025 and 2026. He made the All-ACC first team in 2024 and 2025.
