Christian Falk clarifies Real Madrid president’s ‘Olise’ comment to Bayern chief

One of the most intriguing transfer speculations related to Real Madrid this summer has been their links with the Bayern Munich star Michael Olise. The Frenchman has had an excellent season with the Bavarian side, and continues to shine in the World Cup 2026 with the French national team.

His best position being the right wing means he is a particularly suitable candidate for the Merengues. With Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe on the left wing and the center of the attack respectively, the arrival of Olise would truly make their attack inarguably the most fearsome in Europe.

However, his arrival at the white team is not too clear. Real Madrid themselves have published an official statement clarifying that they are not in negotiations with the player, and would undertake these negotiations only after the nod from Bayern. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga side has also made it quite clear that their star forward is not for sale.

In such a context, the meeting between the Merengue President Florentino Perez and his Bayern counterpart Herbert Hainer recently at the Santiago Bernabeu raised suspicions that something related to the Frenchman might be afloat. Some reports went on to suggest that Perez had even told Hainer: “In the end, you will have to sell Olise to me”.

Now, the reliable German journalist Christian Falk, has clarified this situation in his latest column on CF Bayern Insider. He confirms that this meeting did take place, and even agrees that such a comment might have been made by Perez. But he goes on to highlight that this was only a light-hearted joke from the Spaniard and not a statement of intent.

The two individuals share a very close relationship and already have an agreement that the Merengues would not make any moves for Olise this summer. But if they plan something about the Frenchman in the future, they would first notify Hainer, and only then contact the player or his agents.

Thus, Michael Olise it is highly unlikely that Michael Olise would arrive at Real Madrid this summer, but things can still change next year, hopefully without negatively impacting the relationship between the two historical European clubs.
