WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Memorial strengthened its district position Thursday night with a convincing sweep of Abilene, winning 25-10, 25-15, 25-15 to move to 29-7 overall and 4-1 in district play.
Memorial controlled the match with a steady, balanced attack. Eva Grisel and Landrie Love each finished with 13 kills, pacing an offense that kept Abilene on its heels throughout all three sets. Savannah McClure and Mackayden Birkhead added six kills apiece, giving the Mavericks production across the front row.
Memorial dominated the opening set, then maintained its rhythm with clean passing and consistent pressure at the net. Abilene struggled to generate sustained offense, and Memorial’s depth allowed it to pull away in both the second and third sets.
The Mavericks’ efficiency and balance proved too much, securing a straight-set victory that keeps them firmly in the hunt near the top of the district standings.
