Redman says he took an “old-school” approach to coaching the team, letting a few talented players go because they didn’t fit the team-first culture he was trying to create. He even traded away starting quarterback Jason Bean four games into the season, and it ultimately proved to be the right move. The Kings won six of their last seven regular season games to make the UFL playoffs, then avenged their only loss during that streak by beating St. Louis in the semifinals last week.
