Bristol City close in on Volendam midfielder Yah

Bristol City is closing in on the signing of FC Volendam midfielder Gibson Yah, according to The72.

The Championship side has reportedly agreed a deal with Volendam for the 22-year-old, while the player is also close to reaching an agreement with the Robins. Only final details, a medical and paperwork are believed to remain.

Yah joined Volendam from FC Utrecht last summer and impressed during his first full season in the Eredivisie. He made 24 league appearances and registered three assists, even though Volendam was unable to avoid relegation.

The midfielder came through the youth ranks at Ajax before moving to Utrecht, and his physical profile has made him an interesting option for English football. Standing at 6ft 4in, Yah is known for his strength, tackling, and ability to carry the ball from deep areas.

Portsmouth had also been linked with the player earlier this summer, but Bristol City now appears to be in pole position.

If the move is completed, Yah would become another young addition to Bristol City’s squad as the club prepares for the new Championship season.
