Liverpool have announced the signing of winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported £123m (€143.6m).

Barcola has signed a five-year deal at Anfield, with the Reds paying PSG a reported £106m (123.8m), with add-ons taking the fee to £123m (€143.6m).

The French international becomes the Reds’ second-most expensive signing in their history, after Alexander Isak joined from Newcastle United last summer for £125m.

Barcola made 152 appearances for PSG following his move from Lyon in August 2023, scoring 39 goals and providing 35 assists.

The 23-year-old, who has won three Ligue 1 titles and back-to-back Champions Leagues with PSG, now has his eyes set on Premier League glory.

“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” Barcola told Liverpool’s website.

“It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams.

“It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it.”

Since his move to PSG, Barcola has recorded the most take-on ending carries among Ligue 1 forwards (184), created the third-most chances (121), directly contributed to the third-most goals (47) and completed the fourth-most dribbles (124).

He also ranked joint-top in Ligue 1 over the past three seasons for goals from fast breaks (six) and shots from fast breaks (28).

Barcola’s Liverpool bow could come on Friday, when they travel to newly promoted Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

The winger’s Anfield debut is set to take place in the Champions League, with the Reds hosting Atletico Madrid on September 9.

Barcola is likely to replace Cody Gakpo, who is set to join Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester City.
