PHILADELPHIA − As if the Eagles could afford to lose any more running backs, Carson Steele left the game midway through the first quarter with an apparent shoulder injury.
The Eagles’ top three running backs were already sitting out with injuries in Saquon Barkley (hamstring) and backups Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley, who are both on injured reserve.
Steele is one of three running backs promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Steele was injured as he caught a short pass from Tanner McKee on the sideline. He got up with his left arm dangling. He was taken to the medical tent, then the locker room.
That leaves the Eagles with Dameon Pierce and Jaydon Blue at running back.
