Bandits reportedly kill Lafagu village head in Kebbi

Suspected bandits have reportedly killed the village head of Lafagu, Alhaji Sa’idu Mujeli, in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The incident was disclosed by crisis reporter in the Northwest region, Bakatsine, in a post shared via his X handle.

According to Bakatsine, Mujeli, also known as Sarkin Lafagu, was killed by the attackers on Saturday morning during an attack on the community.

The reported killing has triggered fears among residents, with people from the Kaoje-Lafagu area reportedly fleeing their homes and relocating to Bagudo town for safety.

A community source quoted by Bakatsine said several members of the Fulani community had been killed in attacks in the area, alleging that traditional rulers had also been targeted.

“We are requesting justice from the government,” the source said, calling for urgent action to protect residents and bring those responsible for the killings to justice.
