It hasn’t quite been 24 hours yet, but it might be time to move on to the next game for Alabama. Three weeks and three games have gone by and there’s a lot to unwrap. One obvious point is that the Crimson Tide scores a lot of points. Unexpectedly, they’re giving up a lot as well. Bama is tied seventh in the nation in scoring offense with 47.7 point per game and No. 1 in scoring offense in games vs. FBS Power conference teams only. On the flipside, the Tide defense is 63rd in scoring defense at 21.0 points allowed per game.
Next up for the Crimson Tide is a South Carolina team coming off a home loss to Mississippi State. They’ll either be mad or mopey. It is hard to tell. It looks like Las Vegas is on the side of ‘mad’ as FanDuel has opening odds of Alabama being a 12.5 point favorite over the Gamecocks with an Over/Under of 54.5 for a night game in Tuscaloosa
So far this season, the sportsbooks have given SC a pretty large Over/Under in each game as well as pretty generous spreads with varying results.
- Sept 5 Kent State: -35.5 / 53.5, Won 57-0, Won / Over
- Sept 12 Towson: -44.5 / 57.5 Won, 45-9, Lost / Under
Sept 19 Mississippi State: -3 / 59.5, Lost 34-41, Lost / Over
Sept 5 Kent State: -35.5 / 53.5, Won 57-0, Won / Over
Sept 12 Towson: -44.5 / 57.5 Won, 45-9, Lost / Under
Sept 19 Mississippi State: -3 / 59.5, Lost 34-41, Lost / Over
Carolina is 1-2 against the FanDuel spreads and went over the Over/Under twice.
The ‘Cocks whupped up on some cupcakes to begin the season, but dropped their first conference game of the season at home. Now the Gamecocks have to pack up for the first road test of the year.
The Over/Unders for Bama thus far have not been big. Possibly because Las Vegas expected lower scoring by the opponents?
- Sep 5 vs East Carolina: -28.5/52.5, Won 48-10, Won/Over
Sep 12 at Kentucky: -9.5/47.5, Won 45-17, Won/Over

The Crimson Tide did not cover for the first time this season against Florida State. They have easily gone over the Over/Under in all three affairs. It seems logical to deduct that Bama-SC might go over the total points threshold once again.
One thing to consider is that Carolina is playing away from the friendly confines of home for the first time in 2026. The Crimson Tide are home sweet home for a second straight week. This match-up is at night and should have cooler temperatures.
With an over/under of 54.5 and 12.5 point spread by FanDuel, the final score could look something like Bama 33-21 or 34-21.
I like South Carolina with +12.5 but not by much. The points total seems a little low. I would go over the Over/Under. Give us your thoughts in Comments below.
