Alaafin eases Oro curfew to allow BECE female candidates sit exams

He noted that the extension applies specifically to female pupils sitting the national examination on the festival’s final day.

The decision comes amid growing efforts to minimise disruptions to academic activities during traditional festivals.

Earlier this month, the Lagos State Government rescheduled some Basic Education Certificate Examination papers in parts of Ikorodu Division after the declaration of an Oro Festival in the area.

The state government said the adjustment followed consultations with relevant stakeholders to safeguard candidates, examination officials and members of the public during the traditional observance.
