AKSU SUG notice on establishment of Amnesty and Long vacation Programme


The Management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has approved the introduction of the Amnesty Programme and the Long Vacation Programme (LVP) to assist students with outstanding academic requirements.

The Amnesty Programme is designed for students admitted from 2015 onwards who were unable to graduate within the stipulated period or who have pending course backlogs. The programme will run for nine (9) weeks during the long vacation and allows eligible students to register for a maximum of 24 credit units, covering both first and second semester courses, including previously failed or unregistered courses. Students who were expelled are not eligible.

The Long Vacation Programme (LVP) is targeted at final-year students with a maximum of three (3) failed non-General Studies courses, with the option of including one (1) General Studies course. The programme will run for nine (9) weeks at the end of the second semester. Eligible students must not have exceeded the stipulated duration of their programmes and must demonstrate commitment to completing their studies within the approved timeframe.

All interested students are advised to contact the Director of Academic Planning, the Secretary of the ALVP Committee, or their respective Deans and Heads of Departments for further information.
