5-star PG Cayden Daughtry taking official visit to Tennessee this weekend

Five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry, one of the top players in the 2027 class, is taking an official visit to Tennessee this weekend, he told Rivals.

The 6-foot rising senior out of Calvary Christian (FL) is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an average of all three major recruiting media companies (Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports).

Daughtry’s trip to Knoxville marks his second official visit, as he made a trip to Florida State last weekend. He’s also scheduled to see Iowa, UConn, Florida, Miami, and Arkansas in the coming weeks and months.

In addition to the visits he has set, he’s also considering Kentucky, Michigan, USC, Louisville, Providence, Villanova, and Vanderbilt.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native had an historic summer. He won a gold medal with USA Basketball and a Peach Jam championship, earned Peach Jam MVP honors, and put up eye-popping averages: 32.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game at Peach Jam.

“I want to prove that small guards are back,” Daughtry told Rivals in a previous interview. “That’s definitely one thing, but another thing is I want to prove is just how much of a dog I am and how much I want to win. I want to show these colleges and NBA scouts that I am here to stay, and I’m not going to flare off, that I’m going to keep getting better every single day.”

Cayden Daughtry played like a man possessed, with so much speed, but also under control. The 6-foot-1 lead guard put the opposing team under a lot of pressure, keeping them on their heels and playing much of the game in the open floor. Daughtry has a purposeful dribble, getting to spots and making the reads when he is in an advantage. Daughtry had quick hands on defense, getting a number of deflections and steals, but quickly transitioning defense into offense. There is a leadership quality he brings, along with a production factor.”
