The San Francisco 49ers may actually be getting some good injury luck for their Week 6 matchup with the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football.
Fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who hyperextended his knee in Week 4 vs. the Denver Broncos and was expected to miss multiple weeks, trimmed his return timeline down to just one week. After a limited practice Thursday, the 10-time Pro Bowler was a full participant in Friday’s session. That puts him on track for a full practice Saturday with a clear path to play in Monday’s game.
Defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. also saw his status upgraded in the second practice report of Week 6. He was limited after being out of action since Week 2 with a high ankle sprain. If he’s able to suit up Monday it would mean he’s back on the short side of his projected three-to-six week recovery timeline.
