Mackie, who died on September 14 at 87, created some of the most recognizable and timeless pieces in fashion history, dressing stars including Cher, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, and Britney Spears.
He also managed to stay relevant in seven different decades, from drawing the first sketch for Marilyn Monroe’s iconic “Happy Birthday Mr.
