About the York University Presidential Scholarship

The President’s International Scholarship of Excellence is awarded to international high school applicants who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership, community involvement, and achievement in areas such as the arts or sports.

Recipients enter York University as President’s International Scholars and may receive the scholarship for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be an international student who requires a Study Permit to study in Canada.
• Apply to an eligible undergraduate degree programme at York University.
• Be entering directly from high school, no more than two years after graduation.
• Have no previous university or college studies, except where applicable to the Tentanda Via Award.
• Have an excellent academic record with a minimum 80% (A) admission average or equivalent.
• Demonstrate leadership through community service, extracurricular activities, arts, sports, or other achievements.
• Provide a letter of recommendation or other required supporting documents.
• Ensure all required admission documents are marked as received in York University’s application system.
• Complete the International Student Scholarship Application before the deadline.

Financial need may also be considered during the selection process.
