The scholarship and bursary presentation took place on Saturday, with beneficiaries drawn from various tertiary institutions. The initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on students and encouraging academic excellence.

Speaking at the event, Senator Yayi said the intervention fulfilled another promise he made in the area of educational and human resource development for young people. He noted that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to empower youths and prepare them for future leadership and national development.

Under the scheme, university undergraduates received scholarships of ₦200,000 each, while students of polytechnics and colleges of education were awarded ₦150,000 each. In addition, beneficiaries of the bursary programme received ₦100,000 each to support their educational expenses.

In a remarkable gesture, the senator also awarded a scholarship to a young artist, said to be less than 10 years old, in recognition of an oil-on-canvas portrait the child produced in his honour. He described the artwork as a masterpiece deserving of encouragement and support.

The event attracted several prominent political leaders and government officials, including the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; and the senator’s wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola.

Also in attendance were former Ogun State Deputy Governor, Alhaja Salmot Badru; Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi; former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola; Ogun State Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Kayode Oladele; Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Laolu Olabimtan; Chief Derin Adebiyi, former APC State Chairman; former Ogun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele; the Osi of Egbaland, Chief Bode Mustapha; APC Ogun West Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, as well as other top government functionaries.
