Yankees move up start time of Sunday's regular season finale

NEW YORK – This weekend’s nor’easter continues to impact the Yankees schedule.

Sunday’s regular season finale against the Orioles has been moved up to 1:05 p.m., at Yankee Stadium, “due to the current forecast of inclement weather throughout the late afternoon.”

According to the Yankees, all Stadium gates will open to ticketed fans Sunday at noon.

This decision to move the originally scheduled 3:05 p.m. start was made in coordination with MLB.

Sunday’s MLB regular season wrap up called for all games to begin at the same time, to maintain a level playing field and some drama among clubs still vying for playoff berths or division titles.

But there is no consequence to Sunday’s Orioles-Yankees game, other than personal statistical achievements.

Saturday’s previously scheduled 7:15 p.m. O’s-Yanks game was moved up to Friday, due to the nor’easter, creating a single-admission doubleheader, which the teams split.
