With Aaron Judge now injured and his return uncertain, the New York Yankees truly have no other option but to make a massive move.

For a Yankees organization that’s clearly looking to win a World Series and needs to do so as soon as possible because of this aging core, the Yankees can’t sit back and allow this injury to hurt them as much as it has.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, there’s no replacing guys like Judge, as he’s undoubtedly one of the greatest players Major League Baseball has ever seen, and perhaps the best Yankee, in terms of pure production, that fans have ever seen.

However, there are still ways for the Yankees to improve on both sides of the baseball, and replacing Judge, at least some of his production, should be at the top of that priority list.

One player the Yankees could look at is Lars Nootbaar of the St. Louis Cardinals, as reports now indicate that, while he might not be available, there’s at least a sense that teams will call on him to see what he could be going for.

“I’m not sure that Nootbaar will even be available, but what I do expect is that he’ll receive plenty of trade interest. And Chaim Bloom has shown that he’ll always listen — and that if a team meets or even exceeds his price, he isn’t afraid to pull the trigger on a trade,” Robert Murray wrote.

Nootbaar is not going to be the guy the Yankees are looking for to fully replace Judge, but he can do so much better than most other players who are available or could become available.

Interestingly enough, I think he’d be a great fit for the Yankees even during times when Judge is healthy, so I’d like to see New York go out and make a move for him.
