WWE turned some serious pages at SummerSlam. It felt like a new era of sorts and that was confirmed in Des Moines, Iowa at Raw on Monday. We saw the biggest winners — sans the SmackDown exclusives — returns, slight swerves and plenty of highlights. Here’s every major takeaway from the Raw after SummerSlam. Let’s talk wrestling.

Tribute package aired for Brock Lesnar
Reigns took the ring first, showed love to Seth Rollins and was interrupted by L.A. Knight. The two went toe-to-toe in a promo and while Knight didn’t stammer, he was still dwarfed by Reigns’ aura and his overall control of presentation. Knight looked nervous and Reigns didn’t. That’s the difference.
Big Cass’ return was decent. He attacked Je’Von Evans after the Young O.G. defeated Ethan Page in a strong Raw match.
The attack wasn’t connected to a story, so it felt a little weird. However, Cass made up for it a bit with a solid and focused promo backstage with Jackie Redmond. Yes, everyone was hoping to see Enzo Amore. Maybe later, but for now, Cass injected a little bit of life into what has become a non-existent giant archetype in WWE.
We saw a double return following the Sol Ruca vs. Roxanne Perez match. The bout ended in a DQ win for Sol, but the Judgment Day started beating the breaks off the former women’s intercontinental champion. That brought out Becky Lynch and created her latest turn. The Man is a face again, and she continues to prove why she is one of the best performers in the industry — regardless of gender. Lynch can do anything and you’ll feel whatever she wants you to feel about it.
That’s why she’s the greatest female wrestler of all time and one of the best period. And I don’t care if it’s just me saying it. Moments after Becky went face-to-face with Liv and the two traded barbs on the mic (Liv held her own, but nobody is topping Becky in that situation), Stephanie Vaquer made her return and she took out all three members of the Judgment Day. Seems like we’re headed for a Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship.
I didn’t like the way they dismissed the women’s IC title. Raquel Rodriguez’s strap was made to seem small in the segment. Still, overall, this was a much-needed shot in the arm for the women’s division.
Brock Lesnar seems to have retired for good this time. There was a package run for him with tributes from Roman Reigns. Paul Heyman was shown watching the video backstage. Oba Femi approached him and paid his respects as well.
Oba put Brock over even more in the ring and as he left, he had a staredown with Bron Breakker. That appears to be next as it also appears the severing of The Vision is coming soon.
Breakker has tension with Heyman while Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri could be on their way to an epic run of their own.
Where does that leave Logan Paul and Bronson Reed when he returns? Visionless, perhaps, literally and figuratively.
