Will Johnson injury update: Arizona Cardinals mum on starting CB injury

· · 1 min read

Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur gave one important injury update on Monday, expressing optimism that rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will be able to play on Sunday in the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, he was mum about the injury status of another key player.

Cornerback Will Johnson has been out with an unknown injury. Previously, LaFleur has simply described it as a lower-body injury.

He would not elaborate as to where Johnson is.

“I’m going to be as transparent as I can, but at the same time, I think we know there’s a team over in California that’s listening to this too right now,” he told reporters Monday, referring to the Chargers. “Per the rules, we don’t need to say anything this week. Quite honestly, it’s going to be for every team. 48 hours is a huge deal in terms of some of these guys recovering, rehab and all those kinds of things. We’ll have a better idea for a lot of these guys on Wednesday, and you’ll see it on the report.”

We will have to wait and see. Will he practice? How much will he participate? What is his actual injury?
