Arch Manning predicted to transfer to SEC foe by longtime insider

Following a strong 2026 season as the Texas Longhorns‘ starting quaterback, Arch Manning’s 2027 outlook has been loaded with question marks and, recently, even doubts. Following a comeback victory. over then-No. 1-ranked Ohio State, Manning has been mediocre at best, and in his most recent three games against SEC opponents, has four touchdowns against three interceptions.

When the conversation shifted to a report that redshirt freshman quarterback KJ Lacey Jr. would get more first-team practice reps, it only added to the questions. Although nothing points to Manning being relieved of his starting duties, some believe the quarterback could eye a change of scenery in 2027.

During a recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast (around the 37:00 mark), longtime insider Tom Pelissero joined the show and revealed someone who’s known Manning for a long time believes the QB could play elsewhere. next season.

“Arch could transfer,” Pelissero said. “I texted one person who’s known Arch for a long time, and I said, ‘Where do you see Arch in 2027,’ and his response was, ‘Ole Miss,'” Pelissero said.

“No one would have thought that we’d be talking about, is Arch not going to finish at Texas?” Pelissero added.

It’s an incredible comment, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility. Much of that possibility could come down to how the remainder of the current seasons plays out, but Manning’s. future is going to be a hot-button topic.
