Speaking of which, the NBA has also announced a highly anticipated slate of opening day games for the new season. But one game in particular has LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson jumping in excitement.
Magic Johnson praises Adam Silver for New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers opening night game
The New York Knicks are the defending champions of the league, and for the first time in years, the Philadelphia 76ers have a competitive roster.
As a result, the two teams are slated to face off on opening night, and for this very reason, Johnson wants NBA fans to give commissioner Adam Silver a standing ovation.
“Wow! Basketball fans all over the world should give NBA Commissioner Adam Silver a standing ovation for scheduling the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers game on NBA Opening Night,” Magic wrote on X.
He added, “It was already going to be a special night because the Knicks are receiving their championship rings – but now LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey all will be playing. Must-see TV!”
The 76ers adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to the roster has Philly fans buzzed with excitement. Moreover, facing the defending NBA champions will be an excellent test for the new-look 76ers.
