Who Won the NASCAR Cup Series Race at Chicagoland? Full Results From Sunday’s Race

Chase Briscoe survived a late charge from teammate Christopher Bell to win Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, delivering Joe Gibbs Racing another victory and punching his ticket into the 2026 Chase.

Bell, continuing to race through a fractured left wrist, finished just 0.276 seconds behind Briscoe after spending the closing laps searching for an opening that never came. Polesitter Denny Hamlin completed an all-Toyota podium in third.

The manufacturer didn’t stop there.

Toyota placed seven drivers inside the top 10, marking the first time in company history it has put seven cars in the top 10 of a NASCAR Cup Series race.

William Byron finished fourth as the highest-running Chevrolet, while teammate Alex Bowman rounded out the top five. Bubba Wallace, Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, Corey Heim and Riley Herbst completed the top 10.

Chicagoland race featured several dramatic storylines

The afternoon was anything but straightforward for several contenders.

Kyle Larson appeared to have one of the fastest cars in the field after starting second and finishing runner-up in Stage 1. But his day unraveled early in Stage 2 when the No. 5 Chevrolet spun while running third after appearing to bounce over Chicagoland’s notorious Turn 4 bump.

Larson became stranded in the grass before safety crews pulled his car free. He limped nearly an entire lap to pit road with severe damage, returned to the race multiple laps down and ultimately finished 34th.

Austin Hill’s race ended much earlier.

Hill retired after contact with Shane van Gisbergen, prompting an emotional reaction from Richard Childress over team radio. Childress accused van Gisbergen of intentionally wrecking the Richard Childress Racing driver, while Hill was officially scored 37th after retiring from the event.

Briscoe’s victory was his first of the 2026 season. Bell’s runner-up finish continued one of the toughest stretches by any driver this season, nearly stealing a victory despite racing with a fractured left wrist.
