The first Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week poll for the 2026-27 is now open. It includes 22 athletes from six sports.

Colton Alston, Airport football: Threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for 75 yards.
Ella Baker, Airport girls cross country: Took first place in the Milan Puddle Jumpers Invitational.Landon Barron, SMCC football: Returned kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, recorded 7 tackles in win over Whiteford.
Jamil Brown, New Boston Huron football: Scored 5 touchdowns and ran for 257 yards.
Mason Cousino, Dundee soccer: Recorded a hat trick during a win over Manchester.
Justin Crozier, Ida football: Amassed 271 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns.
Cam Dessellier, Milan football: Threw for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns, ran for two scores.
Evelyn Gill, Milan girls swimming: Won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle against Erie Mason-Ida and Gibraltar Carlson.
Brennan Hudson, Gibraltar Carlson football: Celebrated his first game as the No. 1 tailback with 190 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns.
Sophia Nolff, Dundee volleyball: Led the defense with 25 digs during a win over Riverview.
Macy Ovall, Whiteford volleyball: Rang up 14 kills and 15 digs against Blissfield and 16 kills in the Bedford End of Summer Tournament.
Tavin Parkhurst, Monroe football: Two catches for 154 yards and a touchdown and 55 rushing yards on 5 carries.
David Riddle, Flat Rock football: Caught 7 passes for 79 yards and touchdown, ran for 61 yards and TD.
Ryan Roberts, Jefferson football: Completed 11-for-13 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in first varsity game.
Brek Ruddy, Whiteford football: Ran for 226 yards and four TDs vs. SMCC.
Blair Russow, Bedford volleyball: Recorded 56 digs in Bedford End of Summer Tournament.
Austin Taylor, Summerfield football: Ran for 169 yards and three touchdowns against Flint Beecher.
Mason Tulik, Jefferson boys cross country: Crowned the boys champion at the Milan Puddle Jumpers Invitational.
Jackson Vallie, Jefferson-Erie Mason boys soccer: Recorded his first shutout against Frankel Jewish Academy.
Connor Watterworth, Ida boys soccer: Blanked Brooklyn Columbia Central in 1-0 shutout win .
Carson Welker, SMCC boys soccer: Netted three goals and two assists in a win over Airport.
Everett Wingate, Bedford football: Led defense with 14 tackles, a sack and an interception.
