Who was the top male athlete of the year in The News Leader coverage area? We have reached the end of the high school sports season for 2025-26 and next season is just round the corner, but in the meantime let’s see who our readers think was the top male athlete.
The News Leader’s Patrick Hite narrowed the choices down to three athletes per public school. Some dominated in one sport. Others were very good in multiple sports.
It wasn’t easy to cut the list to three per school, so if there is someone you believe was overlooked, email phite@newsleader.com.
The poll is open until Monday, July 6 at 5 p.m. The female athlete of the year poll is open until June 30.
