Apparently, Ja Rule isn’t always on time…
The hip-hop icon was “unable to make” the Chicago White Sox‘s postgame concert planned on Friday, Aug. 7 due to “unexpected travel issues.” That resulted in the concert’s cancellation, the White Sox said.
According to White Sox reporter James Fegan, the team announced the concert cancellation on a video board at Rate Field during the game against the Cleveland Guardians. It was also African American Heritage Night.
The White Sox’s video board statement added that “Fans who have tickets to tonight’s game will receive complimentary tickets to a future game.”

The White Sox lost the game 8-2.
Ja Rule posted a promotional flier of his planned performance to his Instagram stories, but had no public comment on missing the event as of publication. The night before, he was part of a whiskey tasting at Happy Cork in Brooklyn, New York.
X user @Rijoso_ made a joke about Ja Rule’s rival, saying “50 Cent put a call thru.”
Adding to the sour mood for fans: the White Sox have now lost four straight games.
