Memphis Redbirds 8, Charlotte Knights 6
The Knights (45-39) let a three-run lead slip away after surrendering five unanswered runs late in the game. David Sandlin got tagged for a solo shot in the first but otherwise kept things respectable, earning a quality start by tossing six innings and allowing three runs on six hits. The bats showed some early life in the first when Edgar Quero singled, and Dru Baker doubled him home. Then in the third, Korey Lee manufactured a run with a walk, a swipe of second, and a mad dash on a Camilletti double. Andy Weber even gave them a little daylight with a two-run bomb in the fourth, 4-1 Knights.

Memphis plated two in the sixth, but the Knights looked ready to take control after Ryan Murphy gift-wrapped three walks to start the seventh. Ryan Galanie promptly killed the rally with a double play, but Camilletti bailed him out with a two-run knock, 6-3 Charlotte. Then, much like their big league counterpart, the bullpen imploded. Peyton Pallette served up two in the seventh, the offense did nothing in the eighth, and Wikelman González got lit up for three in the ninth. Birmingham Barons 11, Montgomery Biscuits 4
Birmingham (29-49) wasted no time, jumping out 2-0 in the first thanks to Jacob Burke’s double, a Caleb Bonemer single and swipe, and a Boston Smith knock. Then the Biscuits got their licks in, roughing up Connor McCullough for three in the second and taking a 3-2 lead that didn’t last very long. Colby Shetlon answered with a two-run shot in the home half, handing the lead back to the Barons, 4-3.

Things settled down until Burke decided to go yard in the fifth, a two-run blast that stretched it to 6-3. Both squads pushed across a run in the seventh, but the Barons put it away with a four-run eighth. Jorge Corona and Alec Briley both contributed with RBI hits. Phil Fox tossed the last two frames, kept the Biscuits quiet, and pocketed the save.

Winston-Salem Dash 5, Greenville Drive 4
The Dash (45-33) came out swinging, with James Taussig unloading his seventh bomb of the year for a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. That joy lasted about five minutes, as Juan Carela promptly served up three runs in the next frame. The see-saw continued in the third as Ryan Burrowes wore one, Jeral Perez slapped a triple to right, and the Dash went ahead 4-3.

Then, the Dash bats were quiet, and the Drive crept back to tie it at four in the seventh. Fast forward to the ninth when Eddie Park laced a double, Matt McShane worked a walk, Burrowes struck out, Perez drew a free pass, and then George Wolkow stepped up and delivered the walk-off single. Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 12, Wilson Warbirds 6
The Warbirds got the party started early as Gabriel Rodriguez served up a solo blast to give Wilson a 1-0 edge. Kannapolis (38-40) flipped the scoreboard in the second on a Steven Lancia RBI single and Jurdrick Profar’s two-run double, 3-1 Ballers. The pile-on continued with Lancia unloading a bases-clearing triple in the third. For the fourth inning, it was rinse and repeat with a Jaden Fauske triple, a Matthew Boughton RBI base knock, and it was 7-2, Kanny.

The Ballers kept the foot on the gas in the fifth as Lancia had yet another RBI knock and Fauske worked a bases-loaded walk, pushing it to 9-4. The sixth? More of the same. Adrian Gil chipped in an RBI single, Lancia grabbed his fifth ribbie on a ground out, making it 11-4. The Warbirds scraped together a couple off Daniel Wright in the eighth, but this one was long gone. Boughton tacked on a mercy RBI single in the ninth, just to rub it in.

ACL Rangers 11, ACL White Sox 1 (7 innings)
The ACL White Sox (12-32) got steamrolled, plain and simple. One hit, just a sixth-inning single by Osniel Castillo, was all they could muster, and three walks were the only other blips on the radar. The Rangers flirted with a combined no-hitter and absolutely tormented Sox pitching for 11 runs on 13 hits and a feeding frenzy, going 8-for-17 with runners on. This one was pretty ugly from start to finish.

DSL White Sox 4, DSL Mariners 0 (7 innings)
Scoreless through four and a half, this one was a classic pitchers’ duel until the DSL White Sox (7-16) finally nudged ahead, thanks to a few miscues. Orlando Patino reached on a throw that sailed, Dionys Medina dropped a bunt for a hit, and it was first and second, nobody out. Nestory Perez bunted them over, a strikeout followed, then a wild pitch did the trick, plating Patino, Sox up 1-0. The sixth brought three more tallies as Ronald Cardoza slapped an RBI single and Medina followed with a two-run base hit. On the mound, the hurlers were solid. Three arms, three hits, zero runs. Starter Roderic Ramirez set the tone with four shutout innings, two hits, three walks, and two punchouts.
