The action starts Thursday night when the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers meet in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Australia. Myles Garrett will make his Rams debut after recording an NFL-record 23 sacks last season, while Mike Evans is expected to play his first regular-season game for a team other than Tampa Bay.

Sunday will feature another anticipated debut when former Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion takes the field for Cleveland. The No. 24 overall pick enters Week 1 listed as one of the Browns’ starting receivers.

De’Von Achane, Von Miller and Edgerrin Cooper also begin seasons with significant expectations. Rookies Cashius Howell and Nate Boerkircher will attempt to make an immediate impact with their new teams.

Here are eight Aggies to watch during Week 1 of the NFL season.

Matchup: San Francisco 49ers

Garrett will make his Los Angeles debut after recording an NFL-record 23 sacks in 2025. He has no injury designation after recently dealing with knee swelling.

Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

The No. 24 overall pick is listed as a starting receiver for Cleveland. Concepcion briefly dealt with a shoulder issue this week but returned to team drills Thursday.

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams

Evans is expected to play his first regular-season game outside Tampa Bay. His chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy will be the primary thing to watch in San Francisco’s opener.

Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

Achane produced 1,350 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns last season. Miami is expected to make him the focal point of its new-look offense.

Matchup: New York Giants

The DeSoto native and Texas A&M alumnus will make his Cowboys debut Sunday night. Miller recorded nine sacks last season and remains the NFL’s active career sacks leader.

Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

Green Bay has experimented with using Cooper both at linebacker and on the edge. His alignment and pass-rush opportunities will be worth following against Minnesota.

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Howell will make his NFL debut after Cincinnati selected him in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The rookie earned a second-string role following an impressive training camp and should be part of the Bengals’ defensive rotation.

Matchup: Cleveland Browns

Boerkircher will make his NFL debut after Jacksonville selected him with the No. 56 overall pick. He enters Week 1 as the Jaguars’ No. 2 tight end and is expected to contribute primarily as a blocker in multiple-tight-end formations.

Player availability is based on the latest injury reports available at publication. Final designations and game-day inactive lists remain subject to change.
