Where will Texas high school football championships stream after Victory+ collapse?

One of the primary ways to watch high school football in Texas has officially been shut down, leaving the broadcast future of major in-state sporting events in doubt. 

On Tuesday, Ishmael Johnson, of the Dallas Morning News, reported that Victory+-a free ad-supported streaming television service owned by Calgary-based A Parent Media Co.- was dissolved and will no longer stream UIL games. Victory+ was the home of the Texas High School Coaching Association’s Game of the Week each week of the season. 

Victory+ served as the exclusive platform for the UIL Texas high school football state championships under a five-year agreement facilitated by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, which serves as the UIL’s marketing arm. The status of the media rights for the UIL championships is unclear, but the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Network currently streams Texas high school football regular-season and playoff games.

Which platforms could replace Victory+ for UIL championships?

In addition to NFHS Network, two streaming platforms in Texas may offer options to acquire both title games and regular-season matchups. Texan Live, operated in partnership with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, is a subscription service that primarily broadcasts games in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and East Texas. Texas Sports Productions offers a free live-streaming platform that grants access to high school football games in Central and South Texas.

Victory+, based in Dallas, launched in 2024 with partial ownership by the NHL’s Dallas Stars. The streaming service broadcast several Texas sports teams’ games, including the Stars, Texas Rangers and Texas high school football. The National Women’s Soccer League and League One Volleyball (LOVB) were also partners with Victory+ in streaming their games on the network. 

Which teams and leagues abandoned Victory+?

In recent months, signs of trouble have emerged as the Rangers, the NWSL, and the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks discontinued their partnerships with the streaming service. This was due to concerns about the service’s ability to meet financial commitments and make overdue rights payments. 

“Due to this sudden and unplanned transition away from Victory+, we are working to determine transition plans in the coming weeks through our website and app,” reads the message to Rangers subscription holders on the Victory+ website. 

Following this fallout, Victory+ CEO Neil Gruninger was compelled to resign, and Jon Spencer, a board member of TriWest Capital Partners, was appointed as the new CEO of the company. 

On Wednesday, the Stars officially moved from Victory+ to Prime Video for the 2026-27 NHL season, and, given their ownership of the platform, this all but effectively ends the streaming platform’s future.

As of Wednesday afternoon, only three leagues are available on Victory+’s platform: LOVB, the Western Hockey League and the Women’s National Football Conference.

The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx are the only two professional teams currently allowing live game streaming on the platform, while the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys currently allow streaming of interviews, analysis, behind-the-scenes features, and team coverage.
