Tennessee senior running back DeSean Bishop totaled 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 32 attempts in the Vols’, 26-10, win over Alabama in Week 7.
“It’s truly a blessing, man, I truly wouldn’t be here without God,” Bishop said after defeating Alabama. “Just to see what he’s done, not just in my life, but my teammates around me and all the other people that have been a big factor in my life, you just can’t stop it, man.”
Bishop also discussed his mindset for the Tennessee-Alabama rivalry game.
“I said it Friday, man, it’s already written,” he said. “I believe I get stronger as the game goes on. My o-line held me up, creating holes for me to run through, moving those guys out of the way. That’s just me back at Karns. It didn’t always start off fast, but you gotta keep playing.”
The 5-foot-10, 215-pound senior has recorded 837 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 139 attempts in seven games this season.
Bishop ranks No. 3 nationally and second in the SEC for rushing yards after Week 7. Missouri running back Jamal Roberts leads the nation and SEC with 867 rushing yards. Bishop is one yard behind Torrance Burgess Jr. (838) from Texas State.
