Brazil had already taken a 2-0 lead against Haiti on Friday night in Philadelphia.

But then Raphinha went down with an apparent injury, and he had to be subbed off.

It was late in the first half, and the game wasn’t really in question. The future of Raphinha’s World Cup now is in question, at least a bit.

What happened to Raphinha?

Raphinha appeared to get injured while running hard on the right wing.

The announcing team for Fox speculated that he had hurt his hamstring, because they spotted teammate Vini Jr. pointing to his own hamstring as the trainers came onto the field.

Color commentator Landon Donovan noted that it’s an injury that will take “7-to-10 days” minimum, and often more.

Of course, there’s no way to know for sure that’s what happened, but that was the early speculation.

The substitution happened quite quickly, so either Brazil knew Raphinha was dealing with something, or Carlo Ancelotti simply knew there was no reason to take a chance on this night.

Rayan subbed on, and Brazil will hope everyone else stays intact.

And after the game, Brazilian fans will hope to hear better news about Raphinha.
