Week 6 fantasy rankings: Patrick Mahomes ranked as eighth-best QB

According to the experts at ESPN, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is the eighth-best fantasy quarterback in Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season.

Mahomes fell five notches in ESPN’s ranking, but he can reclaim his spot as the third-best fantasy quarterback with another dominant performance this week.

For fantasy managers starting Mahomes this week, here are his predicted stats against the Chargers on Sunday:

Head coach Andy Reid announced Friday that veteran wide receiver Rashee Rice will miss Sunday’s game after he sustained a leg injury against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Rice’s absence, along with wide receiver Tyquan Thornton’s, will undoubtedly make life harder for Mahomes.

The two-time MVP will need wide receiver Xavier Worthy and tight end Travis Kelce to step up without Rice and Thornton. Running back Kenneth Walker is expected to see more touches than usual this week, but Mahomes may not be able to count on another dominant performance from the former Seattle Seahawk.

I think Mahomes will struggle on Sunday but still put up a solid 200-yard, two-touchdown performance.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ best game against the Los Angeles Chargers came in Week 7 of the 2023 season. The two-time MVP completed 32 of his 42 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns. He posted a passer rating of 129.5.
