New York’s clearly doing everything they can to take Victor Wembanyama down. And honestly? It’s working. Because just this Thursday, the Knicks defeated San Antonio. On the Spurs’ own home turf. And worse? Wemby actually put up a good game. And yet, all of those were in vain. And now, the Knicks Mafia’s going 24/7, hoping the noise reaches Wemby too.
In fact, even the NY mayor is on the Mafia’s side. On his own X/Twitter post, Zohran Mamdani extended a warm invite to Wembanyama. But not in the way the timeline expects.“We’d Love To Have You There”:

At first, Mamdani’s call looked so legit. That it made the Mafia confused. That they were convinced their own mayor was on the Spurs’ side after all.
Until the timeline connected the dots. Because Mamdani’s meeting will occur exactly on Game 4. Of the Spurs-Knicks matchup. And the time? Mere moments before the game starts. If anything, Mamdani threw one of the best subtle shades on Victor Wembanyama. And after realizing this, the Knicks fanbase just vibed with it. There’s no politics involved. Just the NY mayor making sure Wemby hears that noise all the way in Texas.

Obviously, Victor Wembanyama wouldn’t even think twice about dapping up with Mamdani. Attending his rival team’s mayor just looked nasty. And it would hurt the San Antonio fanbase big time. And besides, Game 4 could be one of the Spurs’ most crucial games yet. Game 1 alone was a warning for them. And Wemby knew that if the Spurs didn’t lock in soon, their woes would just keep on going. And it’ll hurt badly to lose a series in New York.
Wemby will test himself once again this Friday. They face New York for Game 2. Still in San Antonio. And Wemby could only hope his Spurs would even the score this time.

And while New York’s out there aiming barbs at Victor Wembanyama, Donald Trump has other plans. And while the POTUS is a Knicks fan, he doesn’t shy away from giving Wemby a shout-out. Because Trump kept mental notes. And he watched Game 1. And saw how Wemby put up 26 points and 12 boards. And three blocks too.
“Wemby is a great player,”Trump said.“He’s [Wemby] going to be a great player. I [Trump] say, ‘How do you guard this guy?’ He’s [Wemby] got a great shot, right? They find a way to do it.”
Right now, Victor Wembanyama is one of the biggest names to win it all. Even the Finals MVP. But of course, Wemby’s focused on the goal. And he knows that giving San Antonio their Ws is what he needs the most.
